Creating a mail center

Julie at Declutter It has a great post (with pictures!) on creating a mail center. I’m all over this idea!

My husband and I have been talking recently about how to make our home office function better. We have big plans for the room as a whole but we also need to address paper clutter. Here is how our mail/bill area looks right now

This is not the best “before” picture because my husband recently cleared a lot of the paper out. The paper is normally piled several inches high. We pay all our bills on line therefore we don’t need the return envelopes. I open the mail over the trash can but it still adds up. In among the paper are CD’s, batteries, the GPS and business cards along with my husband’s passport! The books need to go to the attic for later homeschooling use with our youngest. The laptop lives in that spot unless its being used. All of this is on top of our file cabinet.

I can’t wait to put Julie’s suggestion to work next week! I’ll post “after” pictures when I’m done.

  1. Hey Gina! Thanks for the mention. I can’t wait to see how your mail center turns out! :)

  2. Okay, I really just need you to come to my house. I have a desk and a closet that desperately need your attention. Just kidding…I mean about coming to my house…the desk and closet are still scary. I’ll be waiting to see your transformation!
